PC200 Precision Aqueous Cleaning System

Automated multi-stage aqueous cleaning for high-precision production, processing 8 to 12 baskets per hour through seven stages of ultrasonic cleaning, rinsing and drying within a Class 100 clean-air enclosure.

The PC200 is a multi-stage automated system in the Unitech Shyre precision aqueous cleaning range, engineered for continuous cleaning of high-value components. A two-axis pick-and-place servo transporter carries baskets through the full process automatically, so parts move from load to dry, spot-free unload without manual handling. Electro-polished 316L stainless steel tanks, a fully bunded frame and a pressurised clean-air enclosure supplying Class 100 quality air hold the conditions that precision surfaces demand.

Seven-stage precision cleaning

A typical configuration runs two heated detergent cleaning stages with ultrasonics, each followed by an intermediate rinse supplied with town, DI or RO water to suit the process, then two closed-loop DI water rinses polished through activated carbon, mixed-bed resin and particulate filtration, finishing with a dual-stage HEPA-filtered dry. Ultrasonic frequencies of 40, 80 or 120 kHz match the process to the substrate, and the final rinse is performed in ultra-pure water generated within the machine. A dedicated slow lift drains almost all water from the substrate surface to aid spot-free drying, and drain and refill control is managed entirely from the HMI.

Control and monitoring

Recipe-based automated control governs tank levels, temperatures, chemistry dosing and sequencing from the Beckhoff touchscreen HMI. Batch datalogging and process monitoring record each load for traceability, built-in alarm and fault diagnosis simplifies maintenance, and remote support access allows Unitech Shyre engineers to assist without a site visit. Sleep mode, wake-up scheduling and an automatic idle stop conserve energy between production shifts.

Applications

Precision cleaning of high-value components prior to PVD coating and other downstream processes. The system is most widely applied in precision optics, preparing visible and infrared substrates such as germanium and chalcogenide glasses for anti-reflective and other functional coatings, much of it for defence and aerospace applications. The PC200 also serves automotive, electronics and PCB, medical and orthopaedic, and metal finishing production; for semiconductor applications, the sister W200 wet bench is developed specifically for the industry.
