PT200 Pre-Treatment Cleaning System

Automated multi-stage pre-treatment for dip coating, rework stripping and tool cleaning, processing 8 to 12 baskets per hour through seven stages of etching, cleaning, rinsing and drying within a full clean-air enclosure.

The PT200 is the pre-treatment configuration of the Unitech Shyre 200 series, built for processing ahead of dip coating, for rework stripping and for tool cleaning. Automated basket handling carries parts through the full process, with conveyor load and unload and provision for five baskets at each end, so work moves from load to dry, spot-free unload without manual handling. It is configured differently from the PC precision cleaning models: the process line leads with heated etch and strip stages rather than detergent cleaning alone.

Seven-stage pre-treatment

A typical configuration runs two heated caustic etch and strip stages with ultrasonics, a third etch, neutralise and clean stage running caustic or detergent, an intermediate rinse supplied with town, DI or RO water to suit the process, then two closed-loop DI water rinses polished through activated carbon, mixed-bed resin and particulate filtration, finishing with a dual-stage HEPA-filtered dry. Each process stage carries agitation, filtration, level control, automatic drain and fill and weir overflow, and the final rinse is performed in ultra-pure water generated within the machine. A dedicated slow lift drains almost all water from the substrate surface to aid spot-free drying, and drain and refill control is managed entirely from the HMI.

Control and monitoring

Automatic temperature and level control governs each stage from the advanced touchscreen HMI, with drain and refill managed entirely on screen. Advanced monitoring and control options are available, and process support from Unitech Shyre engineers helps tune the etch, strip and rinse stages to the parts being processed.
